ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 2 spoilers: What is next for Huck and Olivia?

In case you were wondering why the ratings for “Scandal” season 2 keep on rising, there’s a pretty good reason: the show just keeps getting better and better. The action on the Shonda Rhimes drama culminated Thursday when we learned that it was actually not Guillermo Diaz’s character of Huck who was behind the shooting of Fitz at all. Rather, it was none other than a certain someone close to him in Becky who framed the whole ordeal on him, and now he is in the position of facing down treason charges without much of a light at the end of the tunnel.

So is there anyone who the man can turn to now? As a matter of fact, there is, even if her job and her own relationship with Fitz makes the matter a little bit more complicated. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter following the tense winter finale, Diaz explains that Olivia could still be someone who will not only serve as a valuable shoulder to lean on, but someone who could help him clear his name:

“She knows he didn’t do it and that Becky is involved and she framed him. She’s not going to give up on him; she knows Huck is her guy and he’s innocent and she’ll do what ever she can to make sure people know it wasn’t him. And if anybody can do it, it’s Olivia and the gang — they’ll find a way even if Abby has to sleep with David again or what ever it takes!” 

Diaz also says that his character is going to learn from this not to fully trust Becky anymore, but he will continue to struggle with the fact that there are still some lingering feelings that he has for her within the back of his mind. How does he deal with those, and will her keep his sanity in a prison-like environment? Sadly, these are questions we will be waiting until next year to find out.
