‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 6, episode 11 review: Did Raj get a girl?

XMas

‘The Big Bang Theory” had a holiday-themed episode on Thursday night; but strangely, this episode really was not too strong when it came to celebrating the holidays. Instead, the story that really captured our attention was the hope of seeing Raj finding a woman after being alone all of these years.

Did it happen? Not even close, and what happened as a result was one of the most disappointing half-hours of the entire season. For whatever reason, the writers decided to turn Raj yet again into a character who is continually kicked down rather than empowered in his search for his special someone. Even when he was talking with a woman, it was off-camera during his little ladies’ night with Amy, Penny, and Bernadette.

When it came to the conclusion of this story, the only real “moment” came when Raj connected briefly with Amy, who was the only one of the three women he hadn’t fallen for already, over the fact that they both had horrible upbringings when it came to the ladies. It was nice to have someone for him to relate to, but considering that she has a boyfriend now, isn’t it really different?

It’s hard to really even talk too much about what is going on with Sheldon and the rest of the gang, mainly because there was nothing that went on here outside of some assorted hijinks about his distaste for the story. The thing we really did not like about this was simply that Sheldon has had great Christmas moments in the past … so why would he suddenly start complaining about it more than ever now?
