‘Gossip Girl’ series finale spoilers: A look to the future?

Can you believe that the series finale of “Gossip Girl” is literally just five days away? Well, it’s true, and there are going to be a good many events that unfold beyond just the present action of the series. In a move that makes it rather similar to a number of other hit shows over the years (think “Will & Grace” or the way “Scrubs” should have ended), the closing minutes of the show will feature us taking a look into the future of some of our favorites from the Upper East Side. As it turns out, there may even be some pretty big surprises to boot.

According to a new report coming to us via TVLine, there will be a number of surprising couplings that you see when the show leaps forward, and as a matter of fact, a good 60% of them will come across as stunners. (There will also be two pairings that you saw coming a mile away.) Judging from the photo attached here, we are assuming that one of the anticipating couples with be Chuck and Blair; and given the current trajectory of their relationship, Serena and Dan are very like to join them.

As if this was not enough, the site also reports that there will be some sort of twist within the final fifteen minutes of the show that could anger people even more than the love triangle between Chuck, Dan, and Blair has over the course of the past several years. what could it be? We know that it would have to be something at least pretty substantial to generate this sort of reaction, and it also causes us to beg the question of why. Why not just give everyone an ending that is a little less polarizing? “Gossip Girl” is not “Lost,” and it does not need to put itself in that position.
