‘Doctor Who’ season 7: Check out the Christmas special poster!
Do you want a further reason to be excited about the upcoming “Doctor Who” season 7 Christmas special entitled “The Snowmen”? Well, you may have one now courtesy of the brand-new promotional images released by BBC One.
Our personal favorite is clearly the gorgeous bit of artwork to the left, as it features both Matt Smith and Jenna Louise-Coleman making their official debut together as onscreen partners amidst what looks to be a Victorian setting. The Doctor now has a top hat rather than a bow tie, and we also rather appreciate the crimson dress that the actress (who did actually make a surprise appearance early on in season 7) is sporting.
In addition to the arrival of Louise-Coleman, we also know that this episode is going to bring us an appearance from Sir Ian McKellen narrating the leader of the snowmen during the episode. This is turning out to be a rather busy December for the actor, as he is also in the middle of a publicity storm in celebrating the release of “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.”
For those still relatively new to the “Doctor Who” universe, Christmas specials, like with many other British series, are a bit of a tradition here. Families across the pond like to sit down around the television and take in some programming as a family, which is why the ratings for this show along with the “Downton Abbey” Christmas special last year are traditionally a smash. If you add that to the arrival of our new companion, you can almost be assured that things will be off the charts here.
