‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9, episode 9 preview: Meredith and Derek’s sister face off

Following up the first sneak peek from Thursday night’s new “Grey’s Anatomy” season 9 episode “Run, Baby, Run,” we now have another one to share; but rather than this one showing some conflict between Owen and Cristina, this time around the focus is on Meredith and Derek’s sister Lizzie (played by Neve Campbell).

What is especially interesting about this clip is merely just seeing how much the woman speaks the truth in the clip below; she reminds us that Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey’s characters got married at the drop of a hat, adopted a baby, and on neither occasion thought it was appropriate to actually invite Derek’s family to the occasion. In addition to that, they have not really bothered with any invitations that have come in their direction. It’s just interesting to see that the reason that we have seen so little of Derek’s family over time is not because of them not being interested; it’s his and Meredith’s own doing.

The only thing sadder than the situation here are Meredith’s excuses, as she tries to explain to Lizzie that they have “had a lot going on” and therefore have not really been the best family members ever. So what does she do to try and make up for it? Ask another favor in keeping it from Derek and she was the one to ask Lizzie to come and not some of the other workers on staff. Lizzie’s response to this is priceless, but we wonder if Meredith has problems being anyone’s sister after what happened to Lexie.
