‘Gossip Girl’ series finale spoilers: First look at a wedding!

The CW is certainly doing something rather bizarre at the moment when it comes to their “Gossip Girl” series finale airing on December 17: releasing some incredibly spoiler-packed publicity photos before the episode even happens. Who knows? Maybe this is a way to prop up what are at this moment pretty atrocious ratings. Regardless of how you look at it, though, one thing is assured: the Upper East Side is never going to be the same after this episode airs, and the character in the show’s title is finally revealed.

Yes, that is Chuck and Blair tying the knot! Is the wedding really happening? It doesn’t appear to be a dream sequence, and the two are able to marry in front of a small, intimate audience of friends and family. In some way it actually feels appropriate for this to be the way in which these two characters finally move forward with their lives, as so much of what they have been through has been so public and in front of everyone in New York City. (Plus, Blair may still be getting over the fashion show incident with Sage.)

Is there another wedding taking place within the episode? We know that the paparazzi took photos of Penn Badgley and Blake Lively taking some vows of their own, but it is always possible that this was some sort of red herring designed with the purpose of throwing some spoiler-hungry bloggers off of the scent for a little while.

What do you think about this wedding photo, and are you still skeptical are you about the wedding actually happening? Considering how “Gossip Girl” season 6 has disappointed at times, you never know when we could get the air let out of our tires again.
