ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 5, episode 10 preview: Ex-wives and Beckett drama
Just when you thought that Castle and Beckett were taking some major steps forward, they may be on their way to making a few leaps in the other direction. This is at least the impression that we get from the first promo to the January 6 episode of the show entitled “Significant Others,” which should mark an interesting return for one character that we haven’t seen in a while: Alexis’ mom, and Castle’s ex-wife.
So what brings her back into town? Basically, she decides that she needs to start caring for Alexis after she comes down with mono (which we will allow you to jump to some of your own conclusions for), and so she opts to temporarily move in to Castle’s apartment.
As you would expect, though, this is not going to sit well with Castle’s new girlfriend Beckett, who will wonder why in the world there is a woman living at his place who is not only a stranger to her, but that has a romantic history with Nathan Fillion’s character. To make matters even worse (though potentially even more interesting), Beckett is going to be distracted even more by a case that involves breakups and relationships at the forefront.
Ultimately, we are hoping that the promo below serves as some sort of misdirection that there is trouble in paradise for our leading characters, which has been true so far this season even though we have had our occasional moments of skepticism. Hopefully, we will have some sort of clarification early on in the episode as for what this ominous “you’re not the man I thought you were” quote means.
