‘Mad Men’ season 6 spoilers: Jon Hamm, Jessica Pare scoop
If you are desperately trying to find out some actual plot spoilers for “Mad Men” season 6, we have one message for you: good luck. Show creator Matthew Weiner is notorious (and often ruthless) when it comes to his disdain for giving away anything about the story, and since we value our lives on the internet, it’s really best to oblige him this.
However, there is some more general news that we can share: Jon Hamm will be back in the director’s chair yet again! According to a new report from E! News, the actor will direct the third episode of the new season, which is currently in production. This marks the second time that Hamm has been a director on the show, as he is also responsible for the season 5 premiere that first introduced us to Jessica Pare’s singing voice as Megan Draper busted out her now-famous version of “Zou Bisou Bisou.”
Hamm and Pare have been back from Hawaii for quite a while now, where they were filming some scenes that could have been a vacation for Don and Megan. (Though, like we said, it’s really impossible to speculate given the closed set.) There is no premiere date just yet for the new season, either, though early claims are that we will likely see Don and Megan on the small screen again around the same time that we did this year (which means a return in early spring). Personally, we’re major advocates of pairing it with “The Walking Dead” for a few weeks, just to see what sort of massive ratings come from that lead-in. We’ve always thought of AMC’s strategy of airing a repeat right after a new episode as a bit of waste, given that they could be helping to launch another property to great success.
