‘Dexter’ season 7 spoilers: Plenty more surprises lie ahead

“Dexter” season 7 has been plenty shocking moments thus far, but perhaps what may be the most shocking news of all here is that there is plenty more insanity to come, and that we could somehow still be surprised by what happens next. Take a moment to consider the weight of this: so far we have seen Deb find out about Dexter’s secret, help him to keep it that way, and Dexter has fallen in love with a woman in Hannah McKay who is also a killer.

Is this really even possible? The man behind the role of George in Jason Gedrick says so, as he tells Zap2It in a new interview that even while he was reading some of what happens next on the page, there were some changes that caught him completely off guard:

“As soon as you think you’re in a secure place, and you’re on track where the writers are going, they left-turn it for you, hardcore. They U-turn it for you. It was really fun to read each additional script.

“Even as an actor, you think you might have some sense of where it’s going, and sure enough, it would go in a completely different direction. They really upped the bar this season.”

When we last saw George, he was manipulating Joey Quinn to do everything he wanted with the promise that he would release his new girlfriend Nadia and give him her passport in return for taking evidence that would lead to Isaak’s release. While Quinn fulfilled his part of the deal, George did not, and there is not that much the cop can do about it given that he has now put his career in jeopardy.
