‘Supernatural’ season 8, episode 7 preview: Kevin gets put to the test (video)

What is it like to be a prophet? Judging from the latest sneak peek from Wednesday night’s new episode of “Supernatural,” it looks as though Kevin is going to be feeling the aftereffects that come in putting his mom through one of the most difficult situations imaginable.

So what are we talking about specifically? Thanks to him being forced to be constantly on the run, it has made his mother rather paranoid that the next stop she makes could be her last; and with that, she has booby-trapped her house full of ways in which to trap certain evil spirits from coming into her current resident. This of course leads to comedy as Kevin quickly finds himself doused with water, while he lists off all of the ways in which he is working to protect them from evil … thus rendering many of her current plots and techniques rather useless.

Kevin is a character who you could say has an increased role this season as Sam and Dean are trying to seal out demons from this world forever, but for whatever reason, he has often been overshadowed by some of the chaos frequently happening around him. For example, Sam and Dean’s backstories in purgatory have often taken precedence over anything else, and we have also had an episode that was experimental in nature and also the introduction of new characters including Benny and Naomi (who you are also going to meet during this episode Wednesday). Hopefully, this episode will come to change this for Kevin … especially since the title here is, after all, “A Little Slice of Kevin.”
