‘The New Normal’ spoilers: Shannen Doherty to guest star

First, it was a legendary reality star in Nicole Richie; then, it was a “Star Trek” actor in George Takei. Now, the latest person to guest-star on NBC’s “The New Normal” is someone else who is an icon in her own right: former “9020” star Shannen Doherty!

So who is Doherty going to play? Those details are still up in the air, though the actress recently tweeted out a photo of herself along with the caption that the entire cast was a “great group to work with” and that she enjoyed her time being on the set. Specifically, the photo that she posted featured Andrew Rannells, who you may otherwise known as Bryan. (Strangely, all of the celebrity guest stars at the moment do happen to be friends of this character.)

Have you missed “The New Normal” on TV? If so, it’s understandable given the long wait. The last time we saw a new episode, it was actually the second-to-last week of October, as Hurricane Sandy and then the Presidential election each caused the show to be preempted. With all of this being said, the airdates are far behind at the moment where the show is in production, and it is likely that this episode featuring Doherty is probably not going to air until the new year. As a matter of fact, the episode that is a celebration of Halloween did not end up airing before the holiday at all. With that in mind, let’s hope that you are okay with waiting for a little while to see what Shannen brings to the show.
