‘American Horror Story: Asylum’ spoilers: Is there light at the end of the tunnel?
“American Horror Story: Asylum” has gone from bad to worse for pretty much all of its characters so far this season, but there really are not any who have suffered more than Sarah Paulson’s Lana. Want more evidence of this? Just remember that she started off this season as a journalist trying to get the dirt on Briarcliff, and now she is within its walls, and also trying to keep what little of her sanity is still there.
So is there going to be some hope here for this character soon? Not exactly. While there still be something worth smiling about at the end of the tunnel for Lana, Ryan Murphy tells Entertainment Weekly in a new interview that this is going to be a very long (and very dark) journey for her to ultimately see that light:
“Lana does have a really tough road ahead. One of the things I really wanted to do this season was write one or two people you’re really rooting for to get out of these horrors and I think Lana has become that person for me, along with Kit and Grace and Sister Jude. I just can’t say enough things about Sarah Paulson’s performance.”
Based on what we saw during this past episode of the show, the light for Lana could come courtesy of Dr. Thredson (Zachary Quinto), who is working to help her find a way out of her current situation by helping her escape. Unfortunately for her, we have a feeling that this will not be as easy as either one of them thinks.
What do you expect to see happen moving forward on the show for Lana?
