‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 5, episode 9 review: Who smells a rat?
For those of you who watched Tuesday night’s new episode of “Sons of Anarchy” season 5 rather than the Presidential election, you really didn’t miss anything. As a matter of fact, President Obama was called as the champ just mere minutes after the episode came to a close.
As for what actually happened this week, it’s hard to know where to start. For one, Jax doesn’t have to worry about Frankie Diamonds anymore. One of the most dangerous threats to SAMCRO is now dead, and without Eli even telling them (with their deal not exactly working out according to plan), he still managed to figure out that it was Juice who was selling him out to Clay. Now that he knows this, there is one real question worth asking now: does Jax shoot Juice as a result of this? We saw him load his gun, but that does not necessarily mean that he goes through with the act.
As for someone else going through with a plan, Gemma’s bizarre and awkward journey this week, which included her bonding with Nero at a mausoleum of all places, led her ultimately to going to Clay in what we want to believe was her doing as Jax told her. Was it really like this? We are admittedly skeptical, just because of her history being what it is.
As for one other shocking moment, what in the world was going on with Otto and Tara here? The entire story was really sad on so many levels, from Otto’s desperation to touch her and smell perfume to the way in which Tara acted after leaving the hospital. Why did she become so emotional over this little encounter? Is there some sort of desire that, as strange as Otto may be, that she wants Jax to care about her this way?
What did you think about this episode?

@alan bash – Opie was accused not committed as a rat, the difference between Opie n Juice, Juice is confirmed a rat, Opie was not, he was only suspected.
I’m sure Jax tries to take out Juice but some reason doesn’t get the chance to do so, as it shows Eli warning Juice about Jax knowledge of him being a rat n tells him to get out of town. How does this go down with the club?? I have no idea, and also we see the Grim Bastards of Lodi!!!! Glad to see them back, as it shows “WHO ARE YOU?” says the grim bastards prez.
For Tara, it had me wondering too. But reading your post about her wanting the same affection from Jax that Otto had for Luann, makes much more sense, and the fact she was going into a deeper, darker place, much like Otto was in when she was there.
Next week will be intense 90 minutes. Sutter left this week’s episode perfectly, it made me excited to see what happens.
One thing I didn’t like was the mob killing Frankie, but a little upside to it was him admitting to Juice about the truth. Maybe just maybe, Juice will use that leverage with Jax to save his life n take down Clay. Time will tell!.
