NBC’s ‘Smash’ season 2 spoilers: President Kennedy has arrived!

With “Smash” season 2, the producers seem to be more interested than ever in really doing one thing: trying their best to correct some of the mistakes that they really made the first time in the past. This time around, one issue that we are talking about here is really one of omission when it comes to a former President of the United States.

Why wasn’t John F. Kennedy a part of “Bombshell” before? Considering that he was such a big part of the Marilyn Monroe mystique, it’s almost unfathomable that Julia and the other producers of the Broadway show would have not capitalized on this more than they have just for the mere shock value of it alone. Now, E! News is reporting that the show is looking to cast someone to be the President in the play, though by “cast” we could be talking about the show within a show rather than the show itself.

NBC recently announced that “Smash” will return on Tuesday, February 5 with a two-hour premiere, and the show is going to have much more of a challenge than before in that it is no longer going to have “The Voice” serving as a valuable lead-in. The two shows will be a part of the lineup following the premiere of the reality competition in late March, but even with that “Go On” and “The New Normal” will continue to be sandwiched in between the two shows.

Do you have any casting suggestions here, and what do you think about getting the opportunity to meet the President here “Smash”-style?
