Doctor Who season 12 premiere sneak peek: Yaz, Ryan undercover!
In the sneak peek below, you can get a small dose of excitement as you watch Yaz and Ryan partake in what is a bit of impromptu investigating. They’re posing as journalists, but they have a little bit more up their sleeve (and in Ryan’s camera) than it is clear at first. Right when their credentials start to be questioned, The Doctor seems to have conjured up a way for the two of them to be fine. This feels like an occasion in which all of the bases are covered, or at least that is what you probably hope.

What we like about this right away, beyond the sharpness of the dialogue, is that you are witnessing Doctor Who as a series doing everything that they can in order to give some characters a good spotlight pretty much right away. There’s a lot of exciting energy at the heart of what we’re seeing, and we hope that this especially serves as a gateway to some more cool stuff featuring Yaz. This is a character that does not always get a chance to shine, and we’re glad that there are already some signs of that very thing here.
Show executive producer Chris Chibnall has already noted that the new season is one of the biggest and boldest that the series has ever done. In other words, go ahead and think of this as merely scratching the surface of some larger, more eventful stuff within.
