Shameless season 10 episode 5 spoilers: Who picks up Ian from prison?

Coming up on Shameless season 10 episode 5 this weekend, you’re going to have a chance to see Ian in an environment we haven’t seen him be a part of in quite some time: The real world. He’s been in prison for a substantial stretch of time, and while it was nice to see him rekindle things with Mickey, there is more that is out there with his life.

Of course, for Ian it’s really going to be one step at a time at this point. In a new sneak peek (watch here) for Sunday’s episode, he sees that it is Lip who is there waiting for him once he completes his release. Tami has his son Freddy for the day, which means that there is a chance for some brotherly bonding here. yet, Ian doesn’t seem to be altogether interested in doing some huge celebration getting fast food or something of that ilk; instead, he’s more interested in just going home and seeing the family. He wants to meet Ian’s son, as well.

We would imagine that through this next little chunk of Shameless season 10, we are going to have all sorts of opportunities to see Ian try to find more work for himself and stabilize his out-of-prison life. So what about Mickey? We know that there are concerns out there, but remember this. Noel Fisher was listed as a series regular prior to this season beginning, and it’s with that in mind we have to imagine that there is a whole lot more in the way of great stuff coming for him. Maybe Mickey finds his way out of prison over the next few weeks, or Ian goes back to visit him and they communicate in that way. Regardless, we know that this story is far from over.
