The Sinner season 3 promo: Matt Bomer, Bill Pullman take center stage
USA is making us wait until the new year in order to see The Sinner season 3, and we know that this is going to be big. How can it not be? You’ve got Bill Pullman, Matt Bomer, and a new mystery that has some of the most twisted secrets yet at the center.
The new promo below gives you a larger reminder of what’s to come, and we think that there is a lot to be excited for. Granted, there’s just as much to be nervous about! The synopsis indicates that Ambrose “uncovers a hidden crime that pulls him into the most dangerous and disturbing case of his career” — to think, the mystery begins with a car accident, something that happens all the time.
In this new season, Bomer is playing Jamie, a local resident in upstate New York who is well-regarded and doesn’t appear to be harboring any inner darkness. Yet, as the season goes along, some of that may start to be revealed. Chris Messina is also appearing in here as Nick, an old college pal of Jamie’s who will resurface … and may be at the center of the shocking story.
In the end, The Sinner is entering season 3 with high expectations, and for good reason. The first two seasons of the show were outstanding — not only that, but they also managed to bring to the surface interesting questions about morality and the human condition. If there’s any concern we have, it’s that it has been a really long time since The Sinner was on the air. The long layoff will be tough, even though the series is coming back this time around with a totally-new story that should alleviate some of the ratings concerns. Also, this does mark a grand return by Bomer to USA, the network that helped to jettison his career with White Collar.
