The Conners season 2 spoilers: Prepare to meet an older Ed!

The Conners

As we get set to say farewell to The Conners for the calendar year over the next couple of weeks, we have a greater sense of what’s coming. To go along with that, it’s stuff that leaves us rather excited!

According to a new report coming in via TVLine, the ABC comedy is getting set to introduce an older version of Ed Jr., who we first met all the way back in the original Roseanne. At that time, the character was a baby that Ed Sr. had with his second wife Crystal. This is a character who we haven’t seen in a long time, so there’s a lot of room for the writers to explore what’s going on with him. He’s now 21 years old, and he’s someone who has some rather-harsh feelings towards his much-older brother Dan. Why? It has to do with the two’s shared father. Casting is currently underway for the role, and we should see them in a number of different episodes.

While The Conners is certainly trying to be its own show rather than just rehashing every single thread from Roseanne, they’re certainly not afraid to bring back familiar faces in some shape or form. Hence, why we’re seeing Johnny Galecki back for some appearances — and there will probably be some more surprises coming over the next few weeks. We have little reason to think that the writers are going to stop embracing some stories that they think would be fun to play around with. This is certainly one, given that Dan has to contend with an adult version of his much younger brother, one he’s probably used to treating as a kid for the bulk of his life.

The new episode of The Conners, of course, airs Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time.
