Outlander season 5: A new BTS look at the Big House!

Outlander season 4

The Big House may not officially be a character on Outlander season 5, but in a lot of ways it could be. Just think about things in this way — this is an exciting symbol of the growh of Fraser’s Ridge, and the next phase of Jamie and Claire’s life.

We know that the Big House is going to be essential for both Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe’s characters. When they first settled in North Carolina, they never realized that Brianna and Roger would be joining them. They didn’t know of the family or adventure that would be coming at some point down the road. They’re certainly more aware of it now, let alone the major trouble that’s going to come with the British and Governor Tryon applying the pressure onto Jamie.

So while we can’t give you story spoilers for what’s coming up, we can at least give you a good sense of what the Big House is going to look like! In a new post on Twitter, you can see some of what executive producer Jon Gary Steele had to say the Big House design — in particular its paint color — in response to a fan question. There was a new photo shared on Facebook over the past few days featuring the house front and center; Steele’s post gives you a better sense of its more natural color.

While it’s hard to necessarily replicate anything fully in 2019 something that originated back in the 18th century, we know that the production team is doing its best. There was a lot of research that went into perfecting every little part of the Big House, whether it be the colors, the architecture, and also making sure it suits the setting. Given that we’ll be seeing this house for quite some time to come, we have a feeling the producers spared no expense making it as fantastic as possible.

What are you the most excited to see when it comes to Outlander season 5?

Be sure to share right now in the comments, and remember to stick around in the hopes that you don’t miss any other news coming up.
