NCIS season 17: The schedule leading to Cote de Pablo’s return
Today, CBS offered up a few more details, and they are ones that indicate that Ziva’s big return is going to feel as though it is somewhat out on an NCIS island all by itself. You’re going to have a chance to see a new installment tonight, which you can prepare for a little bit more by heading over to the link here. From here, know that there is another new episode coming in seven days’ time.
Unfortunately, once we get into the month of December, things are a little more dicey — the December 17 episode is the only one for NCIS season 17 in the month. There’s nothing before it, and nothing after it. A previous holiday episode will be shown on December 10. Why air this installment separate from almost everything else in the schedule? That’s a good question, but clearly CBS feels like the viewership will be there … and they may be right.

We would argue that what this December 17 episode brings, beyond a little bit of seasonal cheer, is Ziva star power. Because of the following that is out there for Cote and this character, viewers will remember to watch. There’s also the possibility of a cliffhanger here, given that Cote will be back for the first episode of 2020 airing on Tuesday, January 7. There’s a lot to anticipate and NCIS has shown over time that they are able to air episodes virtually whenever and people will watch. There was something similar that transpired here back in season 15, when the episode “Double Down’ aired in December, two weeks removed from anything else.
Let’s just hope now that Ziva’s return is worth waiting for — and that it sends us off into another hiatus in fine fashion!
