Is Omari Hardwick leaving Power? Is Ghost dead after midseason finale

The midseason finale ended with Ghost clearly being shot, and you saw his body falling towards the ground after the fact. There are suspects aplenty in what happened, whether it be Tasha, Tariq, Dre, Saxe, Paz, Tommy, or Tate. Blanca seemed to hear the gunshot and that was it. We gotta wait now until January to learn, one way or another, what really happened to this character.
Yet, know this — there has been no public comment that Hardwick is leaving Power. Because of this, we gotta feel at least reasonably inclined that Ghost could find a way to survive. James St. Patrick is the main star of Power, and it is his story that is pushing this narrative forward. It’s hard to think of it without him.
Yet, remember this: Even if Ghost dies, there are still ways aplenty to feature Omari on the show. Remember what we saw on the midseason finale with Raina, Kanan, and Angela all making appearances? That could happen with other characters, as well, as we could see Ghost serving as a sort of negative conscience, a figure that most of these people would like to avoid in one way or another.
Alas, we will have to wait for many more weeks to see where the story goes … but we figure already that it’s going to be crazy. Everything else when it comes to Power as a show is.
