Law & Order: SVU season 21 episode 5 spoilers: Manhattan at midnight

Crime sleeps for no one. You’ve probably heard that expression before, but it definitely applies entering Law & Order: SVU season 21 episode 5. Everyone’s going to be forced into work in the wee hours of the morning — otherwise known as the last time in which anyone would want to work.

Yet, if there are crimes happening, these characters have to do everything possible in order to deal with them … even if that means not having a lot of resources in order to do so. The strains of this situation are going to throw all of the series regulars through a loop, and during this episode, we’ll have a chance to see everything play out.

“At Midnight in Manhattan” is the title for this episode, and we’ve got the SVU season 21 episode 5 synopsis with some more news as to what’s coming up:

10/24/2019 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Thursday) : The detectives are spread thin when three major cases come in at Midnight. Rollins and Carisi argue over an arrest. Starring Mariska Hargitay, Ice T, Kelli Giddish and Peter Scanavino. Guest starring Jamie Gray Hyder, Bea Cordelia, Afi Bijou, Ja’Siah Young and Nicole Brydon Bloom. TV-14 D, L, V

This episode could prove to be a big one, at least when it comes to giving you a good sense of some of the hardship that comes with Carisi’s new job. It’s great that he is doing something that, on some level, he’s always wanted to do. Yet, it’s isolating him from colleagues who he could worked through issues with in a very different way than they have in the past.

This episode serves mostly as another way to showcase New York City, and some compelling cases at the same time. We also imagine that this was one of the more challenging hours of television to shoot, given the fact that it probably required some people to be outside late at night. Hey, at least it’s not something that they were forced to do in the middle of the winter, right? This is so much better than the alternative.
