Is Jesse Quick, Harry Wells dead following Arrow season 8 premiere?
Why is that? Well, it seemed as though all of Earth-2 was completely destroyed within this episode. It’s devastating thought, and it could also be the sort of thing that has huge ramifications for every other part of the multiverse. We’re considering it just a small sample of what could happen in the Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover a little bit later this year.
For now, we continue to have some hope that Jesse and her father Harry survived — mostly because they’re both smart and resourceful. Also, we want to believe that Jesse was able to travel at light-speed in order to make it to another earth in just enough time. (We’d also love to see Violett Beane turn up in Crisis, but she’s also a series regular over on God Friended Me.)
If there is any reason at all to have hope, it’s that Marc Guggenheim (in a lot of ways, the main architect of Crisis on Infinite Earths) noted on Twitter that we’ll have a chance to learn a lot more about Earth-2 next week. Isn’t that great news? We like to think so! It suggests that there could be more to this story, and that is something that we are especially eager to see explored a little bit more.
One thing that we do have to recognize is this: Not all of these characters are going to live forever. Some are going to die in the crossover, and others may be dead beforehand. The part that would make these particular deaths tragic is the simple element of there being no real, proper goodbye here. It’s sort of akin to just blinking and then, all of a sudden, these characters just fade into the background. That’s it and you’re left to wonder more of what could’ve been.
