NCIS season 17, Good Trouble filming shut down by wildfires

NCIS season 17, like a number of different shows on the air, films in the Santa Clarita – San Fernando Valley region close to Los Angeles. Yet, due to the Saddleridge Fire currently causing damage all across the area, the major productions had to press pause.

According to a new report from Deadline, filming for NCIS was shut down for the day due to the fire, while at the same time we also saw filming suspended or canceled for the day for a number of other shows. Think along the lines of another CBS series in SWAT to go along with Freeform’s Good Trouble, ABC’s Bless This Mess, and then also the Party of Five reboot.

This is a fire that has already burned through thousands of acres and ultimately, it’s one that has caused a lot of problems and pain for families. First and foremost, our thoughts go out to everyone who is dealing with these fires in the area. This is serious stuff, far more serious than a scripted TV show that serves as a means of entertainment.

NCIS has used studios and locations in and around Santa Clarita for years now, and in that time, it’s established a bond with the community. Somehow, someway, they’ve been able to create some duplicates for Washington DC in the area. It’s a little bit easier for shows like SWAT and Good Trouble — after all, both of these series are actually set in Los Angeles and that makes the whole process so much easier.

More than likely, production on a number of these series will resume early next week — after all, we don’t assume that the interruptions will be longstanding thanks to all of the brave individuals who take on the dangers of these fires. There’s a way for everyone to move forward and get back on the saddle.
