Prodigal Son episode 4 spoilers: Malcolm’s unnerving childhood

As we prepare for Prodigal Son episode 4, why not kick things off with this question: Can any of us be that shocked that Malcolm had a difficult childhood? The more you think of it, the easier it is to imagine that he is tackling so many details underneath the visage and what he uses in order to help the police.

When these memories are contained, it’s easier for Malcolm to handle what happened to him. Yet, on the next new episode entitled “Designer Complicity,” they could all rush to the surface once more. Through that, he may also recognize that he could’ve been aware of what his father was capable of before anyone else.

As Malcolm’s childhood memories start to take shape, he realizes his father’s killing spree may not have been a surprise to everyone in his family. While Malcolm continues to investigate his past, the murder of a famous model and social media influencer sends him, Gil, Dani and JT on the hunt for a stalker with a creepy eye for design in the all-new “Designer Complicity” episode of PRODIGAL SON airing Monday, Oct. 14 (9:01-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. At this point, it’s fairly clear that the strength of Prodigal Son comes via its duality. This is a show that can give you, at one point, some really heavy character stuff tied to Malcolm’s past. Yet, they can also still find a unique way to throw in that case-of-the-week story that feels present and different from what a lot of other crime shows out there are doing. This originality, coupled with the performances from the cast and a signature tone, could keep Prodigal Son on the air for a long time. If it keeps up what it’s done so far, there are a lot of reasons to have faith in its future.
