This does, in the end, bring us closer to where we are right now: Another table read as we keep inching closer towards the next new batch of episodes airing. In a new post on Twitter, show executive producer Ildy Modrovich confirmed that yesterday, the table read for the third episode of the season took place. We know that this title is “¡Diablo!,” and it is our hope that this story is every bit as enjoyable as you would think.
Through most of the season 5 shooting experience, we’re imagining a rather sentimental environment for the cast. Through much of season 4, it may have been on the team’s mind that it could be the end of the road; yet, at the same time there was so much stuff to enjoy directly in front of them and so many reasons for gratitude after it felt as though the show was rather dead in the water following the cancellation. Now, they have a chance to process their TV mortality. They recognize that season 5 is the end (pending some last-minute shock) and it is being written with that in mind. They can cherish these table reads and recognize that there are only 13 left after this.
Our feeling at the moment is that through season 5, you’re going to have a chance to see Chloe and some of the other familiar faces try to get Lucifer back from Hell — and, if they can, see if there is a normal life still to be had. there is potential for SO much in the way of exciting stuff in the weeks to come and we’re very much curious to see what that looks like.
Now, the waiting resumes.
