American Horror Story: 1984 episode 3 preview: Fallen & they can’t get up
The video below gives you a sense of how things at this particular camp are getting so much worse long before they get better. Maybe you don’t get a whole lot of scoop when it comes to individual plot points out of it, but that’s not something that you should expect at this point. We would just spell it out like this: More action, more drama, and a whole lot more mayhem. This should be a season that causes you to drop your jaw not just at the killing, but also at the way in which it goes down and also the motives behind it.
Will this premise by sustainable? Maybe long-term, that is the biggest fundamental question … and that is also the biggest fundamental question that has been there with every other season over the years. This is just a format that is hard to keep the scares going the longer that it goes on. (We will admit, there is a funny moment in the new promo, though it takes a tragic turn for the worse seconds later.)
Just in case you’re wondering about the latest ratings for 1984, we have some bad news — last week’s episode generated a 0.7 live rating in the 18-49 demographic coupled with just under 1.5 million viewers. This is a sizable drop from the premiere, not that we should really be that shocked by this at all. Let’s just put it this way — this is a franchise that tends to lose a lot of ratings steam every single season after just a few episodes, as viewers either bail or they opt to watch the remainder of it via DVR. For one reason or another, this is just not the short of show that tends to generate all that much in the way of consistent ratings from the start until the end.
