NCIS season 17: Cote de Pablo on Ziva’s story, online petitions

This morning, Cote ended up appearing on BuzzFeed’s AM to DM (click on the embedded tweet below) in order to talk a little bit about the series, and she started off by going through the circumstances around her return. Some of these stories are ones you have already heard. Yet, Cote ended up also confirming that she doesn’t know exactly how the story is going to end, and she’s just waiting to see whether or not the writers will come up with an extremely satisfying conclusion.
In the end, Cote discussed social media — she claims that it can be an “incredible platform for truth,” but it’s also something that she hasn’t spent a lot of time investing in. She has no social media and likes her privacy — which makes her appearing on a social-media fueled program all the more entertaining and ironic. She knows about a social-media petition out there to feature more of her on the show, but as we’ve heard already, it’s really up to the writers and producers to determine her long-term future. She also talked about her culture heritage, immigration, and a number of other topics as well. It was a fairly wide-ranging interview, and it’s one that comes near the end of the program. The episode also does feature appearances from Ruby Rose discussing Batwoman and then also former Glee actor-turned-writer Chris Colfer talking about some of his latest work.
On Tuesday’s new NCIS, you will see Cote’s Ziva working more in tandem with some various members of the team, including Torres, Bishop, and McGee — yet, at the same time there will be some suspicions about her true motives. Is she really someone who can be trusted? That’s going to be a part of this story, and one that has already sparked a number of questions online. We don’t think that Ziva would be a part of a terrorist organization, and there could be more to this story than what you at first see.
