Poldark season 5 episode 2 PBS preview: Demelza, Ross, London, & grief

Following tonight’s premiere, are you interested in learning what’s coming on Poldark season 5 episode 2 on PBS? Think of it as the natural evolution to the story following tonight’s introduction to Ned Despard. Within the premiere, you learned a little more about him, including Ross’ history towards him and the proclivity that he is going to have towards protecting him. That’s great on the surface, but what we’ve come to realize over the years is that some of Ross’ strengths (his loyalty, his honor) may also be his weaknesses in certain precarious positions.

Moving into episode 2, the great news is that Ross, Demelza, and the rest of his family are going to have some quality time together in London. Alas, the bad news is that there will be all sorts of stuff that awaits them there. Ross will have to navigate some dangerous waters to ensure this own metaphorical ship stays afloat and he can bet there for those he loves. His actions, meanwhile, could also cause some tension between him and his longtime friend and confidante Dwight Enys.

For a few more details, we suggest that you take a look at the full Poldark season 5 episode 2 synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below:

Demelza and the children join Ross in London, but his dogged pursuit to help Ned finds them caught in a dangerous web. George’s lingering grief has unexpected consequences, while Dwight’s expertise and honorable intentions place him and his friends on shaky ground.

We don’t want to give too much away for those Poldark viewers who haven’t heard any spoilers from the UK, but we will tell you this: Episode 2, and much of the first half of the season in general, is going to feature an Emmy-worthy performance from Jack Farthing. It’s the sort of performance that could easily leave you blown away, even if it doesn’t excuse any of the actions of his character of George Warleggan from throughout the series.
