Jorge Garcia confirms his Hawaii Five-0 exit; see his statement
In a new statement via TVLine, the series regular/former Lost star had the following to say about choosing to exit the show at this time:
“I’m grateful for my time on Hawaii Five-0 … I loved getting to return to the islands, and creating a character that connected with so many people. Playing Jerry was a blast, and I look forward to popping in again to play with my TV ohana.”

Jorge, in between his time on Hawaii Five-0 and also Lost, has spent a lot of time on these islands over the years. Jerry was a unique character, someone who brought a lot of humor into the world and also someone who managed to play a key role in a wide array of different cases. He wasn’t always out in the field, but he learned a lot about crime-fighting and running operations through all of his various seasons on the show.
If you do love Jerry, executive producer Peter Lenkov already confirmed to CarterMatt that there will be a chance for us to see a little bit more of the character moving forward — much like Garcia confirmed. There’s no clear timetable, but the ending to this story was designed so that there would be a chance for him to come back. It all just depends on finding the right story, since we do at least know that the character is alive and he isn’t going anywhere.
With the departure of Garcia from the show, it seems like Katrina Law is going to take over his spot as Quinn Liu, who will be working with McGarrett and the Task Force. She has some things in common with Steve — at least more than she does with Jerry.
