Law & Order: SVU season 21 spoilers: When will you learn new ADA?
It remains somewhat of a miracle that the NBC show managed to keep this a secret for as long as they have, especially given the enthusiasm around it and also the amount of people who often catch a glimpse of filming locations. Yet, we’re sure that for the past few months, producers have worked tirelessly to ensure that secrets are buried somewhere deep in regards to the casting. (It also probably helps that you don’t have to film too many exterior scenes with the new ADA character.)
According to a new report from TVLine, we now have some good news — you’ll learn the identity of the new ADA within minutes of the show’s first episode on Thursday. With that in mind, it is clear that this is not a secret that anyone behind the scenes at the network is interested in keeping for some extremely long period of time.
So why did NBC opt to make this so secret? It’s possible that it’s just a way for them to give some more intrigue to the premiere, or possibly a small bump in the ratings. The irony there is that it’s not something that this show necessarily needed to do, especially since they could’ve easily just put the info out there and still had solid ratings regardless. We’re just thinking about it kind of like this — it’s not fundamentally all that often that SVU has a legitimate secret that they can hold onto for all that long. This is a chance for them to be able to have something that can raise an eyebrow or two. They know they’ll generate conversation with their powerful stories; they can have conversation here for a different reason.
What do you think about the way that SVU has handled their new ADA, keeping things a mystery for as long as they have? Be sure to share right now in the comments, and remember to also stick around for other coverage. (Photo: NBC.)
