Fear the Walking Dead season 5 episode 15 sneak peek: Ginny’s video

Fear the Walking Dead season 5 episode 7

Fear the Walking Dead season 5 episode 5 is airing on AMC tomorrow, and in full network tradition, they’ve released the opening minutes now!

So what makes these opening minutes separate from what we’ve seen so far? For starters, it’s a shorter preview than anything that we’ve seen so far. It’s also not about any of the major characters who we’ve seen on the show all season. Instead, we’re talking more about Virginia a.k.a. Ginny and her empire that she’s working to build. This video feels a little bit more like propaganda, as you get a good sense of what Ginny and her team work in order to do. She claims that she’s working to build a better future, one where everyone helps everyone and a society where people pull their weight and prove that they can get something closer to what was real before.

Did Althea shoot this video? If she did, the closing seconds suggest that she did not do so willingly. She decries the video as “not the truth” before smashing the television on the ground. If the Ginny Propaganda Video was something that was readily available and/or streaming, we wouldn’t think all too much of this. Yet, because it is something that is on TV in a world where there aren’t any other options, smashing the TV has some big-time consequences. Nobody else who watches that can get Ginny’s message.

What makes Ginny so bad? It has to do mostly with the ruthless nature of what she does. Sure, she can help — but she also is intent on helping herself. We used the word “empire” for a reason, since she and her group want to conquer any territories and resources that they deem necessary. They also have no problem killing those that they deem to be non-essential — hence, what happened earlier this season to Logan. He was good for them until … well, until he wasn’t.
