The Sinner season 3 teaser: First look at Matt Bomer, new mystery
The Sinner season 3 is set to arrive on USA in early 2020, and we know that this means a rather-long wait to see what’s next.
What does this teaser have us excited about? Well, for starters, you’re going to have a chance to see Matt Bomer in a new leading role! This is a big return for him to the network that gave him his biggest break in White Collar, but what we know about his role this time is a little bit different. Let’s start by sharing the synopsis for what’s coming, via Deadline:
The Sinner‘s third installment follows Detective Harry Ambrose (Pullman) as he begins a routine investigation of a tragic car accident on the outskirts of Dorchester, in upstate New York. Ambrose uncovers a hidden crime that pulls him into the most dangerous and disturbing case of his career.
Meanwhile, Bomer is playing Jamie, a man described as “an upstanding Dorchester resident and expectant father who looks to Ambrose for support in the wake of the accident.” This teaser features what looks to be the scene of the crime, something that is dark and mysterious. From the get-go, it doesn’t seem as though Ambrose and the rest of law enforcement have any idea as to what is really going on here. That’s a part of the appeal for the series at this point — venturing into the great unknown. Also, a chance to see two exceptional actors!
There’s no denying that we are going to have to wait for a long time to see The Sinner season 3 premiere — there was only around a year between the start of the first and second season! By the time this season launches, it could be almost a year and a half since the start of season 2. Maybe this is a chance to give the show all the time it needs to be perfect — and also deliver the best ratings. Because of the Suits spin-off series Paulson, there wasn’t the same sort of room for a show like The Sinner this summer as there has been in the past.
