The Walking Dead season 10 spoilers: About the Whisperers War
There is going to be a war-of-sorts coming opposite the Whisperers, but if all early indications are to believed, this isn’t going to be anywhere near the same sort of war that we’ve seen so far. This is one where there are very few rules; there may also not be many specific battles. It may just be an ongoing conflict, one where there are constant back-and-forth struggles and bloody circumstances. This is a conflict that could crescendo at any given time depending on whatever the Whisperers will end up doing.
In speaking more about the differences between the Whisperers and the Saviors, here is some of what executive producer Angela Kang had to say in a new interview with TVLine:
“A lot of the Saviors war was sort of a strategic back-and-forth that wound up in battles … Here, you’re dealing with a nomadic group that doesn’t have a headquarters, so that’s a different type of conflict. There are stories that have to do with the tensions that exist when you are sharing a border that one side does not agree with and that is causing them problems in their day-to-day.”
Because the Whisperers are not organized the same way, one of the other things that you have to prepare for at the moment is for this threat to be ongoing. There is going to be a lot of drama and chaos that we get a chance to see through at least the first half of the season; we do think that eventually the story could shift over to some other subjects, but we don’t quite think that there is any hurry to do that. For now, just relish in the chaos that is here … and prepare for some characters to test their creativity like never before in order to ensure their survival.
