Bachelor in Paradise 2019 video: John Paul Jones vs. Derek (again)
Does this feud really help anyone? At the moment, it’s hard to figure out how it does. We’re talking about two guys who, before all of this started, were for the most part popular. Now, you’ve got JPJ getting unnecessarily petty and calling out stuff that wasn’t even a significant part of the season beforehand — maybe this turns some people against Derek, and we know that it causes a lot of people to feel differently about John. What we’re getting a good sense of here is that John Paul Jones is getting really hung up on the fact that Derek wanted to pursue Tayshia, even though that’s the point of the show, and is finding ways to discredit him. That includes bringing up a podcast, and it’s going to be kinda hilarious in the event that JPJ is ever on a podcast at some point down the line.
In the video below (via Entertainment Weekly), you can see the next iteration of the feud. Derek wants to remove John from what appears to the be the moments before the rose ceremony to talk. The problem is that he’s not getting a lot of willingness out of John in the process. He doesn’t appear to be altogether into the idea, and even when he’s convinced to talk with him, we don’t think the two are going to get anywhere.

Where we ultimately think this is going is pretty simple: If Derek wants to date Tayshia at some point in the future, it’ll have to be away from Paradise. With the way that John Paul Jones is acting, there’s no way that this is going to work within the confines of the show.
