NBC’s ‘Community’ season 4: Take a look back with art documentary

When it comes to a show like “Community,” there is only one thing we love more than seeing a new episode: seeing the passion and the energy that comes from a fan. We know what it’s like to love a show so much that you want to express it creatively, whether it is by creating fan art, writing stories about it, or recommending it to anyone on your contacts list.

With all of this in mind, we are thrilled to present a documentary that was first uploaded on October 19 (the day the show was originally going to return to NBC) that marks a tribute to everything great that is this show. Entitled “Six Seasons and a Movie,” it is a look at how a small group of fans managed to create an underground art show that ended up attracting not only fellow artists and the “Community” faithful, but also the attention of creator Dan Harmon (who gives many interviews within the video) as well as some cast members including Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, and Yvette Nicole Brown. The real star here, though, is the art, as we get to see countless creative interpretations of the show and the characters that are original, but someone still true to the spirit of Greendale Community College.

It is the dedication of these fans in many ways that makes it ever clearer why “Community” deserves to have a fourth-season premiere in a respectable timeslot. Are there shows with higher ratings? Sure, but there are shows with four times these viewing figures who do not exhibit the same level of passion or zeal that these artists are for Abed, Annie, Jeff, and the rest.
