Poldark season 6: Will it ever happen with Aidan Turner, cast?

Is there a chance that a Poldark season 6 will ever happen over at BBC One? Within this article, we’re going to offer up some more news on the show’s future.

At the moment, the reality of the situation is that the season 5 finale is the series finale. This is the end of the road, and there are no immediate plans for that to change. Aidan Turner, Eleanor Tomlinson, and many other cast members gave five years of their lives playing these characters. They put their hearts and souls into them, but acting is somewhat of a nomadic profession. Eventually, you do move forward and take on other gigs.

No one has firmly announced the reasoning behind Poldark season 5 being the final season — the actors’ desire to do other things may have been a part of it, but it could also be a collaboration between BBC One and the show’s producers. One thing that you cannot forget here is that with Poldark, we’re talking about a series based on iconic source material, one that has an enormous time jump before some of the events of the final books. If Poldark were to continue now, Debbie Horsfield would either need to significantly age up her cast (think lots of makeup!), alter the source material, or tell another season meant to fill the gaps between where we are and where things are going.

Here is the one reason to have hope — Turner and others have taken a never-say-never approach to the idea of more Poldark in the future. They’ve made it clear that they aren’t fully closing the door. That doesn’t mean that they are interested in doing more now or in a few weeks, but they could be hypothetically interested if they’ve got an urge moving forward. Let’s just wait and see on this, but not expect anything for certain.
