Empire season 6 spoilers: Lethal Weapon alum to have major role
There is a good chance that you knew already that Empire season 6 is going to be the final batch of episodes for the show. This is where the story is going to reach its emotional peak and we’ll get a chance to learn whatever the future ends up holding for the likes of Lucious, Cookie, and so many more.
So what do we have to add to some of the excitement today? Think along the lines of some more casting news! According to a new report coming in right now via Deadline, Keesha Sharp of Lethal Weapon is going to be recurring through the final stretch of episodes. Her character of Dr Paula Wick is described as “a smart, inciteful woman who offers endless compassion but doesn’t take s–t from anyone.” (We gotta admit that anyone with the last name of Wick at the moment just makes us think about John Wick more so than anything else.)
What we’d like to see from Dr. Wick is something that surprises us. Maybe she could become a new friend to one of the characters rather than a foe — given that she is a Dr., that may suggest that she is a therapist or someone who could help them work through some of their emotional issues. There are a LOT of things that some of these people have to work through.
We know that Empire is not bringing Sharp on board for her to be some sort of major point of view character — it’s the final season. There’s not too many opportunities to get to know the story for any new character. Instead, what we are imagining is that there’s going to be a chance to use her to get to know some other characters and for her to shape their stories in a powerful way. If we get some great moments with Sharp alongside Taraji P. Henson or Terrence Howard, we’re going to be happy.
