The InBetween episode 9 exclusive preview: Millie’s disappearance
In the exclusive sneak peek that CarterMatt has for you below for tonight’s new episode, you can see Tom and Damien do what they can to figure out what happened to a woman named Millie, who has some commonalities but also some key differences with a series of other vanishings that have happened over the past three-plus decades. Why isn’t she a part of the typical MO, and where does the most recent victim in Becky Russell factor in? There are questions aplenty raised by the police through all of this, but it leads them to a chilling conclusion: For well over thirty years, there may have been a serial kidnapper/possible killer out there and they fell right through the cracks. No one was aware of what was happening and it’s fair to coin the problems with that pretty darn serious. It shows further the delicate position that some of these characters are going to be in now trying to resolve the case, without also having to suffer embarrassment over what feels like a potential gross oversight.
The NBC synopsis for this episode reveals that Millie’s disappearance in particular may relate to an “old acquaintance” — meaning, someone who either Tom, Damien, or Cassie has some familiarity with. As it turns out, that acquaintance is none other than Ed Roven! While Cassie may not be featured prominently within this preview, you have to believe that she will play a role in this investigation before it ends. We are nearing the end of the season, tensions are rising, and the cases are getting more and more intense by the moment.
As you prepare for the end of the season, remember this: Ed’s been around for a reason through much of this story. Eventually, we will get to a point where Cassie has no choice but to deal with him.
