NCIS season 17 filming update: A Mark Harmon sighting!

NCIS season 17 is in process of filming but, for the better part of the past week or so, everyone’s been pretty secretive. That makes a whole lot of sense when you consider that Cote de Pablo is a part of the premiere story. Why wouldn’t CBS want to keep things hush-hush?

While today didn’t give us a look at Cote or anything in relation to the premiere story, we did at least get one of our first looks at Mark Harmon this season! He hasn’t shown up in many of the social-media posts that we’ve seen so far this season. Yet, Wilmer Valderrama gave us a small preview of Harmon in his latest Instagram Story, singing his co-star’s praises while at the Universal Lot. This isn’t the typical lot for NCIS, so that’s what makes the whole experience a little bit different for Wilmer and the rest of the cast.

As for what’s going on behind the scenes, the cast and crew are clearly looking for a location with a different vibe and energy. Maybe that is tied in some way to what’s going on with Ziva … or it may just be that there is a particular location that will pop in this first episode. Everything’s going to be thrown at you within this premiere; given what we’re building up for, this could end up being one of the most-anticipated installments in quite some time. Think big ratings, plus questions as to whether or not this will be the only time we see Ziva this season.

What we know about Harmon’s story in the premiere is simply this: Gibbs is in danger. Ziva came to him in the season 16 finale to warn him about what’s going on, but how does she know about something that he doesn’t? It makes us feel like this is connected in some way to what’s going on with Ziva since otherwise, we don’t know how she would know about it. Has she been keeping tabs on Gibbs this whole time? It’s definitely something worth wondering about!

This NCIS premiere is going to air on the network this September.
