America’s Got Talent video: Bir Khalsa, & their hammer, return

AGT

Coming up on Tuesday night’s new America’s Got Talent episode, you will have the return of Bir Khalsa — otherwise known as one of the most dangerous acts in existence. To go along with that, they’ll be bringing some hammer-related chaos with them at just about every step.

In the video below, you can see some of what we’re talking about as the guys turn up to do a number of different danger-related stunts. First, they do a little bit of balancing on an extremely dangerous spike. From there, they transition into bashing a giant block of ice with a sledgehammer. Their largest member, at seven feet six inches (enough to easily tower over guest judge Dwyane Wade, an NBA legend), lies on the ground and puts that sledgehammer on top of him. Then, the pummeling begins and shockingly, he’s okay on the other side of it. This is one of the craziest stunts that we can imagine anyone being okay with doing and yet, he was fine going through this and having it happen.

The most insane part of this whole act, though, was watching the tall guy getting hit with the sledgehammer right in his chest. He took the pain without even flinching, meaning that this guy could be perfect for a future John Wick movie.

Anyhow, the end of the act features more melon-smashing, a variation on something that we’ve seen from them before.

No doubt, Bir Khalsa is exceptional at what they do — they are dangerous, and they do it with such commitment and understanding of what an audience wants from them. Are they perfect? Not necessarily. Our wish is that in the live shows they do one extended stunt as opposed to a number of little ones. The act is a little disjointed and there isn’t a whole lot in the way of momentum from one part of the performance to the next. If that changes, we’ll be very happy with the end result.
