‘Jersey Shore’ season 6: Deena Cortese talks ‘separation anxiety’ issues

When it comes to Deena Cortese on “Jersey Shore” this season, there really has just been one theme that has recurred more or less throughout: she misses her boyfriend Chris. A lot. As a matter of fact, she has melted down about being away from him on a number of occasions, with one of the funniest ones being while Vinny Guadagnino was just trying to have a conversation with him about furniture for a new house he had just purchased.

So what is the ultimate reason behind some of her behavior? If you listen to what Deena has to say herself about the issue, it has a great deal to do with her own history over the course of her lifetime. Speaking in a new interview on MTV not long after the latest episode of the show aired, the reality star had the following to say not only about her meltdowns, but how she managed to move past it over the course of the entire season:

“I’ve had separation anxiety since I was small, but then I kind of grew out of it, and now that I have Chris, I’m experiencing it again … And it was hard for me in the house, and luckily he was able to come down and see me. The roommates were there for me, and my parents were there for me. It was a rough patch, definitely a rough patch for me this season.”

Based on all of the information that is out there, it does appear as though Chris and Deena are still going strong, even though the couple is still not the same sort of high-profile relationship that we have with Snooki and Jionni LaValle, or JWoww and Roger Mathews.

Do you have sympathy for what Deena went through?
