Blindspot season 5 premiere date hopes for Jaimie Alexander, cast
Would it have been awesome for the final season of Blindspot to premiere at some point early in the fall? Absolutely, especially since that has been the pattern for the majority of the show’s run. Yet, times are a-changin’ when it comes to the future of the Jaimie Alexander series, and season 5 is probably not going to premiere until midseason. It was not included on NBC fall schedule, with The Blacklist taking its previous timeslot of 8 p.m. Eastern time on Friday nights.

Here’s where things get a little bit interesting. For whatever reason, NBC has scheduled The Blacklist and The Blacklist only in terms of scripted shows for Friday night. It seems like they’re following it with just a couple of hours of Dateline. Why not just put Blindspot at 9:00 and then just have it finish out the scripted lineup for the night? Maybe that’s something that could change in the future, but they clearly don’t have any plans to do it right now.
If nothing changes, the most likely scenario for Blindspot season 5 is that it’s going to premiere at some point in January and run the entirety of its final season from there. We’re expecting that it’ll have around 13 episodes, there though enough no official number has been released as of this time, it will serve as a fitting final chapter to this epic, at-times twisted story. You’re going to get a milestone 100th episode hopefully, and creator Martin Gero can finish out his initial vision for the series. It had been his hope to have it run for five seasons, and now he’s going to get to pull that off and then send it off into the sunset.
As for precisely what we want, is it too much to ask for a happy ending? Given all the trauma and the chaos that has gone on in Jane Doe’s life, there is absolutely nothing more that we want than to see her and Weller happy — at least after taking out some bad guys. Of course, there is going to be action, and there’s probably going to be some new shocking mythology that gets introduced. It does feel like one of the main goals for Blindspot is to constantly have your hair standing on end at some point over the course of a few episodes
This journey has been fun, it’s certainly been action-packed, and we have actually gotten to see more of the world through it than almost any other network show out there other than The Amazing Race. Unfortunately, all good things have to come to an end.
