Kodi Lee’s America’s Got Talent Golden Buzzer audition goes viral
For anyone who follows the world of America’s Got Talent, you’re pretty familiar with the power of the first Golden Buzzer of the season. Often, the act that closes the first show is the one that generates tens of millions of views in a short period of time. That’s the case here with Kodi, and we haven’t even gotten to 48 hours following his audition on the show just yet.

Just from Kodi’s audition on YouTube along, you’ve got a video with more than 13 million views. It’s been shared by a number of diehard AGT fans, but more importantly, this performance of “A Song for You” has been viewed and shared by plenty of people who aren’t even regular viewers. That’s the sort of thing that AGT craves perhaps more than anything else — after all, this gives them a chance to get more viewers to future episodes of the show.
To go along with these YouTube views, did we also mention that the audition has been shared almost three million times already on Facebook? That’s an incredible start for Kodi, and it’s enough to make you feel like this man is immediately the favorite to actually win the whole show.
Will Kodi be the winner?
Let’s label that for now as “easier said than done.” We think that he’s going to have a lot of momentum and a number of people will be rooting for him, but it’s going to be up to song choice.
Also, remember that sometimes, being the runaway favorite after an audition can be a detriment just as much as a benefit. Sometimes, you can be so much of a favorite that voters start to get a little complacent, or there are a crop of viewers who decide to start rooting for someone else, namely out of a desire to be a little bit different! That’s happened with such people on America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent as Susan Boyle and Jackie Evancho, and we certainly do think as though it could happen again.
You’ll get a chance to next see Kodi when the America’s Got Talent live shows begin this summer — it’s going to be a wait, but hopefully, it’s one that will prove to be worthwhile.
