Criminal Minds: Evolution season 19 episode 5: Is Lance dead?

We had a feeling that Criminal Minds: Evolution season 19 episode 5 was going to end in some sort of reasonably dramatic way. With that, what did we ultimately get?
Even though Connor Storrie was originally only planned to be in a single episode of the Paramount+ series, it is easy to tell why the producers loved him. Also, he does fit right in with the story that is being told. His character of Lance ended up being a caller on Brian’s surprise Sicarius Files podcast featuring David Rossi; unfortunately, he was speaking on the air against his will. The Fan is clearly trying to get a sense of everything he can regarding the BAU, and this is where things get complicated — Brian went off-book, which is pretty much his MO all of the time.

Based on the way in which the episode concluded, it may be easy to assume that Lance is gone for good. However, is that truly the case? Not necessarily. It has been noted multiple times that Storrie will appear in at least a few episodes this season, meaning that he will go on to exist in some shape or form. Will he still be a hostage? We would not be surprised, especially since the dangerous back-and-forth here could easily continue for a rather long time if the Fan still has a use for Lance.
As for what the BAU is going to do now, they have to find a way to mitigate some of the damage and act quickly. Given that we are at the halfway point of the season at this point, it feels inevitable that things are only going to get more dramatic from here.
