Last Man Standing season 7 episode 21 sneak peek: Mike’s hidden talent

We know that there hasn’t exactly been an abundance of new Last Man Standing episodes as of late, but that will change come Friday night. There are two new episodes coming up on Fox and through these, you’re going to have a chance to laugh, reflect, and maybe learn a few new things about the Baxters.

Take for example, that apparently Mike Baxter has some sort of incredible double life as a pinball wizard. Who knew? Yet, the sneak peek (which we have for you to enjoy below) is all about that idea courtesy of a new machine installed at Outdoor Man. After watching Mike do this — while also blindfolded — we’re convinced that either this is a guy who spent an abundance of time playing pinball in the eighties (like many of us did), or maybe he is someone who secretly has the intersect in his head a la Chuck Bartowski. He sees something, and automatically he’s great at it. Other than social situations when Mike often throws that foot right in his mouth, he does manage to find a way to excel at a lot of random stuff and that’s always fun to watch.

So how much is a pinball machine going to factor into the rest of season 7 episode 21? It seems like this machine could inspire a rivalry between Mike and Chuck … which is probably going to be incredibly fun for us as a viewer, but not anywhere near as much fun for whoever loses. Think about the office ribbing that’s going to come out of that!

We understand that there may be people out there wanting something a little bit more impactful at the end of the season, but remember this: Sometimes, there is more to a single episode beyond what is out there in the synopsis and a short promo. Also, we don’t really need Last Man Standing to deliver some huge, world-ending news. This is a show about a family’s ebbs and flows, and there could be more of that in the finale. More so than some sweeping change to the story or the family (haven’t we really had enough of that?), our primary hope is that this season just reminds us of why this show was revived in the first place. It represents an escape for people looking to avoid the world for a little while and have a fun time. It’s a return to a simpler time, one where there is tons of family conflict but they find a way to get through it by the end of each hour.
