Chicago Fire season 7 episode 20 video: How is Severide in danger?
In a lot of ways, it feels almost like a revolving door seeing one member of Firehouse 51 be in trouble right after the next. It’s something that we’ve seen transpire time and time again where someone’s life is in danger and, of course, the team rallies to try and help them. At least the majority of the time, the person turns out to be okay.
So, entering this upcoming episode airing a week from Wednesday, that person is going to be none other than Kelly Severide. He’ll be the person possibly in danger because of a blast, and it could take 51 helping him to make it out alive.
At least we know that Kelly has a lot waiting for him on the other side, right? After struggling and dealing with a flurry of emotions for the past season and a half, it does feel like Kelly is inching ever closer to getting-his-life-back-together territory. We think that there is still hope for him and Stella Kidd and, beyond that, still an opportunity or two for him to just cope with his grief and really try to move forward. Maybe he can even consider going on a trip? That was suggested by Kelly on this past episode and we definitely don’t think that it’d be all that bad of a move for him to unwind.

Just in case you are wondering what is causing Kelly to be in this situation in the first place, it started with a fire at a hair salon. Arson is the believed cause, and through this episode, you’re going to see Boden team up with him in order to try and get answers. If you enjoy Chicago Fire when you see 51 put on their handy (metaphorical) detective caps, this could prove to be the episode for you.
Given that there are only three more before this season comes to a close, we’re expecting progress — one where the stories and the drama get bigger and bigger until we have some sort of big cliffhanger that makes us angry (amidst other emotions) before season 8. This has been a great season for Taylor Kinney, at least in terms of his performance. Let’s just hope that this continues now through at least the remainder of the season.
