‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ reunion review: Teresa Giudice fights again
During the first fifteen minutes of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” we were quickly handed with a reminder of just sort of reunion show this was going to be: one with lots of screaming. You almost needed earplugs to even watch the thing, and also potentially a few martinis to make you feel better about the fact that you were really just watching women scream at other. It started with Caroline Manzo telling Teresa that she was going to end up alone once her 15 minutes of fame were up, and then half an hour in, they were still at it over whether or not Caroline “bullied” Teresa during the season. The Manzo matriarch asked her to come up with an example of just once that this happened, and she really come not come up with one.
The subjects for the special ranged from everything from Kathy Wakile’s family (a rare detour from the drama) to the infamous trip to Napa, and also whether or not Melissa Gorga can really sing. In what was probably the low point of the entire episode, Teresa proceeded to even star mocking the way in which her sister-in-law sings, and then tries to force her to do it. This turns into another screaming match, one in which Melissa accuses her of being jealous of her entire life. This is getting ugly, and really for no good reason other than getting more attention for both of them.
Really at this point, we do hope that there are some massive changes made before season 5. Why? There’s just nothing more to get out of this cast, and if you keep them all it’s just going to be another season of “the family is ruined” and everyone dogpiling Teresa while she does more things with her “us against the world” mentality.
What did you think about this reunion show, and do you think that there is going to be any headway in some of these relationships moving forward to season 5?
