Chicago Med season 4 episode 19 return date, schedule ahead
The obvious point of frustration for many people out there is that there’s not going to be a new episode airing on NBC next week, or nor will there be one airing the following week, either. What gives with that? Well, a big part of it has to do with the network clearly wanting to stretch out One Chicago for as long as possible during May sweeps. Following tonight, the franchise won’t be back until Wednesday, April 24 — that means the same can be said for both Chicago Fire and Chicago PD.
As for what this means for the remainder of the season 4 schedule, it’s fairly simple: You should be getting three episodes during the month of May. This show still has a good bit of ground to cover, especially from a relationship standpoint. Think about the recent course of events for Will and Natalie, or if there’s a way for Ethan and April to really have something stable again. Even with Dr. Charles, he’s spent a good bit of time as of late trying to figure out precisely what his ex means to him. With all of these characters, there is so much good stuff that can come your way, and we hope that a chance at happiness is somewhere on the list.
Obviously, the high point of our frustration right now is Will and Natalie just because we’re talking about two characters who really should have been married at this point. How can we have that as the midseason finale, only to then end the season with them not together at all? We still want to believe in these two, though we’re probably not at running-down-the-altar-territory right now. We may not even be at the time of the finale.
Can we have stuff beyond relationships, too?
It would certainly be great, given just how much the focus tends to be on that with this show. We think it’d be interesting and see a Chicago Med version of a flashback episode — not so much where there are actual flashbacks (this isn’t the sort of show that does that), but rather opportunities to actually get to know a character’s past through an arrival of someone in the present. We see that here and there — take Dr. Charles’ ex or some past loves of Maggie and Goodwin — but we’d love to see it more in terms of other family members. Who helped some of these doctors, nurses, and administrators eventually become who they are? That’s important to know!
