Is Chicago Fire new tonight on NBC? Mapping out season 7’s future

Chicago Fire season 7

Is Chicago Fire new tonight on NBC? For everyone out there who wants more discussion on the latest via Firehouse 51, we’ve got it for you within this piece.

Unfortunately, we also do come packing some bad news — there is no Chicago Fire tonight. As fun as it would be tonight to revisit 51 and some of its wonderful characters, we’re going to have to wait for a while … a pretty long while, in fact. The show is going to be returning come Wednesday, March 27 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time, and we’ll likely get a good run of new episodes for the rest of the season. Expect explosions, fires, difficult rescues, and some relationship drama. More of what we love from this show.

So what do we expect when the show does return? There are no official details out there as of yet, but there are a few different things we’re anticipating based on some of the clues that are out there in the universe.

1. Stella and Severide are not necessarily done – There’s no guarantee that the two will be happy at the end of this season, but we don’t get the sense that anyone is writing the two of them off behind the scenes. It’s really hard to when you consider some of history that is there between them.

2. There’s going to be an epic finale – Not that this should surprise ANYONE given that Derek Haas likes to leave you shaking in the fetal position worrying all summer . That’s probably going to be the case here — we just have to wait until May (more than likely) to see what he does to us this time. Lives could be on the line! Hearts could be broken!

3. There is some good stuff ahead for Brett – We can’t guarantee that there’s anything coming in the romance department, though that would be fun (especially if there was room for Antonio to come over). Yet, we do feel reasonably confident that Brett is going to be challenged career-wise and there are going to be some memorable moments for her ahead.

Of course, it goes without saying that there are some funny firehouse-family moments. That’s what Chicago Fire is really all about more so than anything. You watch this show, and you want to be right there with them (except for the moments where it feels like people are going to die). We also do want a Matt Casey-specific storyline at some point soon, even if there is no confirmation on that at present.
